The Start of my Creative (Photography) Journey
How do people come to the realization that their creativity exceeds their expectations? What inspires them to be creative? What causes certain people to lack creativity? Whether it's mastering a particular art form or expressing themselves creatively, everyone is creative in some manner. Everyone is creative in their own special manner, not just artists. I think that using photography and cinema to tell tales in a distinctive way is how I can be creative. I've always had a talent for capturing images that inspire me while simultaneously leaving everyone perplexed and curious about what I'm attempting to convey.
For instance, image 2. was captured by me several years back. I was outside on our lawn, simply gazing at the sky, when I noticed this plant known as Malunggay. The hues were incredibly bright, which compelled me to appreciate its forms and the quality of the light, and not many individuals would perceive it the way I did. I picked up my camera, positioned myself just so, and there it was, a picture worth sharing. I aimed to illustrate that nature is still thriving and deserves our attention. This is one of the reasons I embraced photography.
In the beginning, I initially find it difficult to understand the camera and its features. I have no idea what the shutter speed, ISO, or aperture were. Fortunately, my brother taught me what I needed to know about those difficult words, even though they were unfamiliar to me. Despite some aspects, like as lighting, angles, and the rule of thirds. My thoughts were surrounded by a lot of things. I simply went and shot anything that caught my attention in my own unique way to stop that. Well, occasionally I still follow those guidelines for taking quality photos, but I add my own spin.
Then the thought of, how can the beauty of nature or the world itself be communicated and shared? Well, I'm going to adopt the trend, share my photos online, and somehow encourage and inspire others to pause and admire what the world has to offer. Though, in this journey of mine, I have also ventured into various other forms of photography. Recently, I have been focusing on portrait photography. I find it fascinating and am eager to improve my skills in capturing better images and expressing visuals in the way I envision. Phtography offers so much variety that I want to explore, and until this day, yes, I am still exploring it.
Examples of my portrait photography:
These are from a photoshoot I did with a friend; they had a Goth Ball to go for Halloween and offered me the opportunity to photograph them. It was intriguing because I had to focus on so many angles, camera settings, lighting and most importantly, the atmosphere they wanted to convey in the photographs. I'm thankful to have had that opportunity since it was an enjoyable endeavor that has inspired me to continue training and improving my talents in order to participate in additional photoshoots while focusing more on my ideas and vision.
Even though I'm not qualified to offer advice on photography, all I can say is that you should just shoot whatever catches your eye. I am convinced that each person has a distinct creative path. While it might not involve photography, everyone has their unique way of expressing and showcasing themselves to the world. Begin your creative journey, express yourself, and inspire others the way you were inspired.
